As we flow through the summer months of 2021, there's a constant degree of uncertainty about whether our contribution to society includes the highly valued human connection experienced by Rotary Rotarians in earlier times. The mantra "hands meet face to face" will be an important element of our routine however, it is evident that there's a rising optimism and the need to be face-to-face with people. Rotary is indeed changing. The months that will lead up to summer 2021, there is still uncertainty about what we can do to provide services to the community that includes the valued human connection valued by Rotary previous members. However, it is evident that the mantra of hands-on-face will continue to be an integral part of the Rotary routine. Rotary is, however, having changed. The Rotary network helps build friendships that last. The pandemic served as our catalyst to take on technology. While maintaining our online meetings for business purposes, we've re-introduced interactions with others and serve with a more secure face-to-face format. In order to build an improved future for Rotary We have seized the opportunities of the epidemic and our previous practices. An earlier Rotary survey showed that about 75% clubs were planning to go on with their usual business. Listen to this story 1. Amanda Watkin, General Secretary's Column published in Rotary Magazine. In the course of a Rotary survey conducted recently it was encouraging to learn that 75% of clubs were planning their usual events and initiatives that were previously beneficial to communities in Great Britain and Ireland. Furthermore, I'm extremely pleased to note that the Rotary Support Team continues to offer valuable tools to help promote and support these various projects. Also, they manage infrastructures which keep their members safe as well as protect the public. Compliance and insurance are crucial. The members' imagination and creative thinking when it comes to dealing with some of life's toughest challenges is astonishing. I am grateful for the opportunity that Rotary gave me in 2002 with the opportunity to become a participant. Rotary also has provided me with an excellent circle of friends that share the same values. I am grateful for this. We should now ask family members and friends to be members of this incredible group.
